Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 launched


XiaomiMiPad2 Xiaomi today launched its second tablet, the Mi Pad 2. This new tablet is essentially the successor to the Mi Pad that first launched in May last year.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is much thinner than its predecessor with a thickness of 6.95mm as compared to 8.5mm before. Weighing in at 322 grams, it is also 38 grams lighter than its predecessor (360 grams). It is being made available in two color variants – Dark Grey and Champagne Gold.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 price: The 16GB variant is priced at 999 Yuan or roughly Rs 10,300, while the 64GB variant is priced at 1,299 Yuan or roughly Rs 13,500.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 specifications and features: The tablet flaunts a 7.9-inch (2048×1536 pixels) IPS display with 326ppi and is powered by a 2.24GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core chipset paired with Intel HD GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM.

On the storage front, it offers 16GB and 64GB options, while in the photography department, it features an 8-megapixel f/2.0 camera supplemented with a 5-megapixel wide angle selfie camera up front. The tablet also features a 6,190mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 648.8 hours on standby mode.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac and USB Type-C port. Xiaomi has launched two variants of the tablet, one that runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7, while the other runs on Windows 10. The MIUI 7 variant will go on sale sometime this month, while the Windows 10 variant will go on sale sometime in December.
