Xiaomi has launched the much awaited Mi 5 with Snapdragon 820, which is Qualcomm’s latest premium-end processor. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be coming to India on April 6.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with a 5.15-inch IPS LCD full HD display, a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm’s 820 chipset which has a customised quad core Kryo processors, an Adreno 530 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will come in three variants in terms of 32GB ,64GB and the 128GB Ceramic variant which is a UFS 2.0 standard flash memory storage.
On the imaging front, the Mi 5 boasts of a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor based rear camera which supports phase detection AutoFocus and comes with a new technology called deep trench isolation (DTI) to provide pixel to pixel isolation. It also sports a 4MP front camera which is capable of shooting 4K videos too. The main camera is equipped with 4-axis OIS, which compensates for a shaky camera along the longitudinal, latitudinal planes, rolling shake and stutter. The camera hardware of the Mi 5 is definitely something to look up to for someone looking to buy a camera intensive phone.
The Xiaomi Mi5 will comes with 4G+ or LTE Advanced support with VoLTE, Wi-fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with AGPS, NFC and support for two nano SIM cards. The phone will come equipped with a Home button which dubs as a finger print scanner as well. Xiaomi Mi 5 series of phones will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with the MIUI 7 OS on top of it. The phone also comes with a 3000mAh non-removable battery with QuickCharge 3.0 technology which Xiaomi claims takes only an hour to charge the Mi 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 will go on sale starting April 6 where the 32 GB variant will be priced at close to Rs 21,000 and the 64GB variant at Rs 24,999. With Xiaomi claiming that the Snapdragon 820 in the Mi 5 beats Samsung Galaxy S7’s Exynos 8890, the phone definitely will give Samsung run for their money.
