Reliance JioPhone launched at Rs 0 with Rs 1,500 security deposit today

Based on this phone, Reliance is also going to create aggressive tariffs which may come as complementary with the phone. In terms of specifications, the phone will come in two variants in which one will come with a Qualcomm processor, and the other with a Spreadtrum chipset. The remaining specs of the Jio 4G VoLTE budget phone will include a 2.4-inch display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD card support, 2MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Torch, FM Radio and 4G VoLTE support. A leaked version of the phone also shows that it will have a dedicated hardware buttons in the front for MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, and JioMusic apps. Also, Voice calls and SMSs will be free with the device. The Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer for this phone will be just at Rs 153 with unlimited data, voice calls and SMS.

The handsets will supposedly come from the Chinese vendors such as Zhejiang Techain Electronics Technology Co., Shenzhen CHINO-E Communication Co, Crave and Megaphone. While the Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE budget phone is expected to be announced at the July 21, the device will reportedly hit the market on August 15 as the shipments will begin early August.

Additionally, Reliance Jio is also expected to launch a broadband service named JioFiber soon, which might also be announced on July 21. The service will initially come to six cities, and will later expand to other cities.
