Jolla’s Intex Aqua Fish with Sailfish OS 2.0 was silently launched at the MWC 2016 event being held at Barcelona. The news comes in line with the announcement of Intex’s partnership with Jolla for their next Sailfish based smartphone back several months ago and recently showcasing of it’s prototype in Shanghai.
The Intex Aqua Fish comes with a 5-inch HD resolution TFT display, is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card by up to 32GB. The smartphone evidently runs on the latest Sailfish OS 2.0, it also sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, a 2MP front-facing camera and packs a 2500mAh battery.
The Intex Aqua Fish supports 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Micro-USB 2.0. The Jolla’s Intex Aqua Fish will be available in Black and Orange color variants.
The new updated OS from Jolla brings an improved UI integration. Swiping left or right from the multitasking view in Sailfish OS 2.0 brings up partner spaces, which the company uses to monetise its OS. The Aqua Fish is expected to be launched at a lower price and impress the low-end to mid-range smartphone buyers.
