Motorola has launched it’s latest addition to the Defy series apart from Motorola Defy and Defy Plus in the past. It launched the Motorola Defy XT and Defy Mini as the new rugged android based models. The Motorola Defy XT will come with a 3.7 inch capacitive touch screen, 1 GHz processor, a 5MP camera rear camera and a front VGA camera, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM and a dissappointing Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread. By just adding a VGA camera to it’s predecessor does Motorola really justify it’s new model without ICS? That is upto you to decide. Anyways this would come up for Rs 16,190 on Flipkart and Rs 15,890 on Infibeam making it Rs 700 lighter on your pocket.
The Motorola Defy Mini which is priced for Rs 11,490 is cleverly being aimed at the low-end market for Rugged phones which actually isn’t without a competitor. It comes with a 600 MHz processor, a 3.2 inch HVGA capacitive touch screen, 512 MB RAM, a 3MP rear and VGA front camera, and again with Android v2.3. This too misses out on ICS. While appreciating the smart move from Motorola for introducing a rugged model for a lower price, we also feel disappointed with them for not giving these phones the ICS love which they require. It’s anyways upto our dear readers to tell us that if they really appreciate these phones or do they also feel it as a waste of money.
